April 14, (THEWILL) – Clarence Seedorf, the UEFA Champions League Ambassador, had a full day in Abuja on Wednesday, while on the UCL Trophy Tour, sponsored by Heineken.
The former Real Madrid and AC Milan star is in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, for the tour, which began in Lagos the day before. Going around the city of Abuja, the 46-year-old Dutch star was accompanied by ex-Nigerian internationals Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha and Daniel Amokachi.
With the UCL Trophy in tow, Seedorf took a city bus tour from the Transcorp Hilton to Abuja’s Moshood Abiola National Stadium, where he met with Sunday Dare, the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development.
The four-time UEFA Champions League winner then went on to a fan Meet and Greet, where he took photos with fans next to the UCL Trophy and signed a few pieces of memorabilia, much to the joy of the already ecstatic football fans.
The thrills continued with a luxury match viewing experience at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, where fans flocked in droves to witness Manchester City take on Atletico Madrid.
Perruzi and Lojay, two Afrobeats musicians, were on hand to delight the crowd with half-time entertainment and an after-party to cap off a memorable day.
