Save The Children UK Appoints Femi Otedola It’s Vice President

November 22, (THEWILL) –The Save the Children Fund, commonly known as Save the Children has appointed businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola as one of its numerous vice presidents.

Save the Children’s vice presidents are a group of high-level supporters and critical friends of the organisation, actively involved in advancing the work of Save the Children, through advocacy, volunteerism, introductions, and philanthropy.

Otedola was appointed in recognition of his philanthropic efforts to better the lives of children in Nigeria.

The billionaire business mogul, who has been a major supporter to the organisation through his donations and resources since 2019, has helped with the prevention and treatment of malnutrition and advocating for access to quality for Nigerian children.

His major impact has been to over six thousand children in Adamawa, Borno and Katsina State.

In November 2019, he hosted a gala in Abuja where he made a five billion naira personal donation.

His global influence and rich experience of the African continent will advance Save the Children’s efforts in building sustainable partnerships with stakeholders across Africa to create more impact for children on the continent.

Since 2001, Save the Children has been working to ensure all children survive, learn and are protected. They protect children from all forms of violence, especially girls, orphans, vulnerable children and children affected by conflict and to ensure that girls have equal access to education and are protected from child marriage.

Established in the United Kingdom in 1919 to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts, Save the Children is now a global movement made up of 29 national member organizations which work in 120 countries.
