October 08, (THEWILL) – Zaidu Sanusi, a defender with the Super Eagles, has signed a new, two-year contract with FC Porto that would keep him with the team through the summer of 2027.
Sanusi, who signed a five-year contract with Porto in August 2020, after leaving Santa Clara, is currently in his third season with the Blue and Whites. He earned his first trophy with Porto four months after joining Invicta, playing every minute of Porto’s 2-0 Super Cup victory over Benfica.
Sanusi’s 2021/2022 campaign has been made even more memorable since May 7, when the former Mirandela defender scored the goal that gave Porto a vital victory at Benfica and its 30th league title.

Last Tuesday, Sanusi scored a well-placed header against Bayer Leverkusen after coming off the bench, giving Porto their first UEFA Champions League victory of the year and a debut UCL goal for the Super Eagles’ left-back.
Sanusi said he was happy to commit to staying with the current Portuguese champions despite being linked to a move to the English Premier League last summer.
