January 18, (THEWILL) – Manchester United forward, Jadon Sancho, has returned to training after a two-month absence due to a physical and mental issue, according to manager, Erik ten Hag.
The former Borussia Dortmund star missed out on England’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad and was not included in Man Utd’s warm weather training camp prior to the Premier League re-start. However, Sancho has now been spotted in first-team training for the first time in over two months, signalling his imminent return to action for the Red Devils.
Ten Hag stated, “I think he’s now making good progress on the physical part and that will help him. I hope he can return quickly, but I can’t say how long it will be. In this moment, he is not fit enough, no.”
United are next in action in a highly-anticipated League game against leaders, Arsenal, at the Emirates on Sunday, January 22, where they will seek to do the double against the Gunners. Their contentious first meeting this season at Old Trafford ended in victory for the Red Devils.
