Sancho Alienated From Man Utd Teammates As Dortmund Eye Reunion

October 19, (THEWILL) – Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has reportedly imposed strict rules on winger, Jadon Sancho, as part of his banishment from the first-team. The 23-year-old has been made to eat and train away from his teammates since being dropped from the squad in September.

Sancho was removed after failing to apologise for accusing Ten Hag of making him a “scapegoat” on social media. The manager had criticised Sancho’s training performances after leaving him out of the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal. Since then, the England international has not played for United.

Ten Hag has banned Sancho from mixing with teammates at the club’s Carrington training base. He is training alone and using facilities shared with Academy players. Ten Hag has said Sancho’s return depends on an apology, but there has been little sign he will back down after six weeks.

Sancho is reportedly interested in rejoining Borussia Dortmund, where he forged a reputation as one of Europe’s top young wingers. He scored 38 Bundesliga goals in 104 games for Dortmund before joining United for €85m (£73m) in 2021. Initially used on the right wing, Sancho has competed with Marcus Rashford for a place on the left.

Sancho has also fallen out of favour with England manager Gareth Southgate since missing a penalty in the Euro 2020 final. His international career has stalled following that disappointment at Wembley.
