November 12, (THEWILL) – Mohamed Salah continued his stunning goalscoring run at Anfield by netting twice as Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 victory over Brentford on Sunday. The Egyptian took his English Premier League tally this season to 10 goals – only Erling Haaland has scored more – as the Reds made it six wins from six home games.

Salah’s double takes him to 200 goals in English football, with the forward finding the net in each of Liverpool’s last six games at Anfield. His first came just before half-time, converting after good work from Darwin Nunez. He headed home a second after the break as Liverpool’s pressure finally told.

Diogo Jota added a late third to round off another comfortable home win for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The result leaves Liverpool second in the English Premier League table, just one point behind leaders Manchester City, who are currently playing Chelsea. The two title rivals face off after the international break in a mouthwatering clash at the Etihad.

After a summer of transition, Liverpool have emerged as City’s main challengers once again. This victory made it eight wins from 12 league games so far, with a 100% home record. Brentford struggled to contain Salah and Nunez in particular, with the Uruguayan having two goals disallowed.

While Salah claimed the headlines again, Nunez’s rapid improvement has been a big positive for Liverpool. His all-round play and unselfishness was evident, even if he was denied on multiple occasions by marginal offside calls. After last week’s blip against Luton, normal services have resumed for Klopp’s side.
