October 16, (THEWILL) – The sacked Adamawa North Senator, Elisha Abbo, has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio plotted his removal by the Court of Appeal.
THEWILL reported that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Monday, sacked Abbo as Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District and declared Amos Yohanna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the February 25 national Assembly election held Adamawa North.
Speaking with newsmen at his residence in Abuja shortly after the Court judgement, Abbo, who fingered Akpabio in his sacking, claimed that the Senate President also has plans to remove the former chief whip of the senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and four other senators, for not backing his senate presidency bid.
“I have it from a reliable source that myself and four other senators within the fold of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will be removed from the Senate through rulings from the courts, all because of working against the emergence of Akpabio as President of the 10th Senate.
“I won’t mention the names of all the four other ones targeted but the next in line is Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
“The court judgement is strange and the judiciary needs to please remain the last hope of the common man”, Abbo said.
Abbo, who described the judgement sacking him as a coup on democracy, appealed to his supporters to remain calm.
