BEVERLY HILLS, October 30, (THEWILL) – Portugal and Juventus superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo has returned a negative test for coronavirus after self-isolating.

Ronaldo, 35, who tested positive on Tuesday, October 13, missed Juventus’ 2-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday after another test on Tuesday came back positive.

While self-isolating, he also missed two Serie A games, plus the first two UCL matches that Juventus played.

His last active game was for the Portuguese national team against France in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday, October 11.

Ronaldo, who had scored three goals in Juventus’ first two league games before testing positive for COVID-19, had to leave the national team in camp and enter self-isolation.

The UCL group-stage draw had set up the possibility of a Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi reunion on the same pitch for the first time in two years. Arguably the best footballers in the world, both players have a total of 11 Ballon d’Or awards between them.

Nevertheless, the world has another chance to witness that reunion as the reverse fixture comes up on Tuesday, December 8 at Camp Nou.

THEWILL hopes that that clash lives up to its billing and gives football fans of both megastars the excitement worthy enough of a UCL “El Clasico”.

Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus next face Spezia away at the Orogel Stadium Dino Manuzzi in Serie A on Sunday.
