August 30, (THEWILL) –Â Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reportedly completed a transfer-based medical in Lisbon, Portugal, ahead of his highly anticipated return to the English Premier League side where his fame began, Manchester United.
The 36-year-old is on the verge of finalising the contract to re-join the Red Devils in a deal that could rise to €20 million.
As THEWILL reported, Man U confirmed on Friday that an agreement had been reached with Serie A giants Juventus to effect the transfer of the record-setting striker. The deal was only subject to personal terms, a medical and a visa.
The transfer has now reached that last step, as Ronaldo his passed his medical. The Portuguese is set to sign a two-year contract at Old Trafford as personal terms have also been agreed.
All that is left is the final hurdle to scale which is a visa. Plans are also afoot to have that sorted out and concluded before the transfer deadline on Tuesday, August 31.
In anticipation of the return of their favourite forward, United fans, who travelled to the 1-0 away win over Wolves on Sunday, were pictured with a cardboard cut-out of the attacker and there were chants of his name during the record-breaking victory.

The announcement of having the striker back has been huge for everyone involved with the club, and English football in general. United’s market valuation also saw an uptick in the aftermath of the announcement.
