November 23, (THEWILL) – After spending the previous two seasons with McLaren, Formula One racing star, Daniel Ricciardo, is returning to Red Bull Racing.

On Wednesday, Red Bull Racing announced the change on Twitter. Following the announcement, Ricciardo tweeted, “Looking forward to returning home”, expressing his excitement about the move.

Ricciardo spent his first three Formula One seasons driving for HRT and Scuderia Toro Rosso, but from 2014 through 2018, he was a member of Red Bull Racing. The first five years Ricciardo spent with Red Bull Racing produced the best results of his career, with an eighth place or higher finishing in the standings every year.

Additionally, Ricciardo won seven of his eight career F1 race victories with Red Bull Racing, which included third-place results in 2014 and 2016. He spent two years at Renault before two years with McLaren after departing Red Bull Racing at the end of the 2018 season.

Over the last four seasons combined, Ricciardo has only managed one victory, and his highest points result was a fifth-place finish in 2020 with Renault. The 33-year-old Australian finished the 2022 season without a single race victory and in 11th place in the standings, which is his poorest finish since finishing 14th in 2013 when racing for Scuderia Toro Rosso.
