March 19, (THEWILL) – Russian tennis star, Daniil Medvedev, continued his unbeaten streak on Saturday, defeating Frances Tiafoe 7-5 7-6(4) to secure a spot in the final of Indian Wells.

Medvedev, who has won 19 consecutive matches, will face either top seed, Carlos Alcaraz or Italy’s Jannik Sinner, for the championship. This victory comes after his recent title wins in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai over the last month.

Despite a missed opportunity to break early in the first set, Medvedev took advantage of his next break point to secure a 6-5 lead before serving out the set. In the second set, he secured a break at love and looked to be on track for an easy victory. However, Tiafoe saved three match points to pull within 4-5 before forcing a tiebreaker. Medvedev eventually won the tiebreaker 7-4 to earn his place in the final.
