June 01, (THEWILL) – Gubernatorial aspirant under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Member Representing Lau, Ardo Kola and Karim Lamido federal constituencies in the green chambers, Hon Danladi T Baido, has promised to reconcile Taraba state and run an all inclusive Government if elected in the 2023 general elections.
Hon Baido, who made this assurance on Monday, after grabbing the Gubernatorial ticket of the SDP in Taraba with 532 out of 535 votes, also stated that injustice is responsible for grievances, crisis and slow pace of development in the state.
Reiterating his stand to carry all along and reconcile the state, Baido said that when what is due to everyone is given to him, there won’t be grievances everywhere. In other words, what is good for the goose should be good for the gander.
“I’ll make sure I reconcile the people of Taraba state. There is so much rancour and disharmony among people. What is meant for John will be given to John, and what is for Mohammed will be given to him. All must be treated with fairness, equity and justice.
“This nomination is for Taraba state and my coming is for justice. I intend to extend fairness to every party and see to it that peace thrives because there can’t be development in an atmosphere of chaos”, Baido stated.
Speaking on the polity in Taraba and the zoning dilemma, Hon Baido said it was the zoning that stopped him in 2007, where he had to give his mandate to Danbaba Suntai, who was from the central zone.
He added that the zoning arrangement is not new in Taraba and everyone knows it, hence that gentleman agreement should stand and power be shifted to the North.
Baido assured his teeming supporters and the entire people of Taraba that his administration, if elected, will welcome a new dawn for the state and all that are in it.
THEWILL gathered that many from the ruling PDP had defected and hundreds of supporters also shifted their loyalties from the APC and PDP to the Social Democratic Party.
