March 04, (THEWILL) – 2016 Big Brother Celebrity winner, Stephen Bear, has bagged a 21-year jail term for publicly sharing a video of him and his partner having sex.
Bear won the British reality show, Celebrity Big Brother, which was held in the United Kingdom in 2016.
He was handed a jail term on Friday, at Chelmsford Crown Court, for uploading a video to OnlyFans of himself and Georgia Harrison, Love Island star, having sex in 2020 without her permission.
Bear was found guilty of voyeurism and disclosing private, sexual photographs and films last year.
During the trial, he denied all charges against him. He also claimed he deleted the footage and had only shared it with Harrison.
The judge, while sentencing him, wondered why the reality star wished to exploit the economic value of the recording..
“I’m sure that you recognised the enhanced economic value to you by having Georgia Harrison, a well-known reality TV and social media personality, in the video,” the judge said.
“She would have been known and recognised by many people.”
Speaking with reporters outside the court, Harrison said the sentence is a vindication of what she has been put through.
“Today’s sentence is a vindication of what I’ve been put through and sends a clear message that the police and courts take this matter very seriously,” she added.
“I want to let all other victims of this crime know that I stand in solidarity with them and I have absolutely no regrets about waiving my anonymity.
“I hope this puts anyone off committing this sort of crime and I hope for anyone who has been a victim of it, it gives them some sort of justice”, she stated.
