November 02, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid have secured the future of Brazilian winger, Rodrygo Goes, with the 22-year-old agreeing a new five-year contract to keep him at the Bernabeu until 2028.

The deal comes just days after fellow Brazilian, Vinicius Junior, also committed his future to Los Blancos by penning a four-year extension.

Rodrygo joined Madrid from Santos in a €45 million deal in 2019 and has gone on to make 179 appearances for the club, scoring 39 goals. While not always a guaranteed starter, he has still played an important role in Madrid’s recent success, including their La Liga and UEFA Champions League triumphs.

The talented attacker again endeared himself to Madrid fans by scoring twice against Osasuna in May to secure another Copa del Rey title. Despite his relative youth, Rodrygo already has an impressive medal collection from his time at the Bernabeu.

Securing his long-term future is a real statement of intent from Real Madrid. Both Rodrygo and Vinicius look set to play a pivotal role for Madrid over the coming years. Their electric pace, flair and eye for goal will likely terrorise defences both domestically and in Europe for Los Blancos.
