May 04, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid and Liverpool have both approached Monaco about signing the impressive Aurelien Tchouameni, who has been in excellent form in Ligue 1 this season and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s finest midfield talents.
Chelsea has long been interested in signing the 22-year-old, who joined Monaco from Bordeaux in January 2020, and were in talks about a possible transfer last summer – though they ultimately decided against it despite considering a buy-to-lease agreement.
Chelsea are still interested in signing Tchouameni, but a deal will be difficult to complete due to the club’s ongoing ownership troubles, as well as competition from big names such as Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Both clubs are looking to improve their midfield options, with one eye on the future, and they have informed Monaco of their interest in Tchouameni. However, no bids have been submitted to the Principality outfit yet.
Real would prefer to spend no more than the €40 million they paid for Eduardo Camavinga last summer, and Tchouameni is said to be interested in playing in Madrid.
However, Monaco intends to stick to their €60 million value and is likely to demand that price given the high level of interest in him.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also monitoring Tchouameni’s situation but they have other targets on their summer shopping lists ahead of him, while Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are also interested.
Tchouameni still has two years left on his Monaco contract.
