September 24, (THEWILL) – Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, emerged unscathed from a car accident on Saturday evening, following his side’s English Premier League victory away at Burnley.
The England international was travelling home after being dropped off at United’s Carrington training ground when his Rolls Royce was involved in a collision with another vehicle nearby. Images circulated on social media showed extensive damage to the rear of Rashford’s luxury car and debris scattered across the road. However, it is understood that Rashford acted quickly to check on the other driver, who was thankfully also unhurt.
Teammate, Bruno Fernandes, stopped to assist after coming across the incident shortly after leaving Carrington himself. A club spokesperson confirmed: “Marcus is fine and was not injured. It was an accidental collision after he left training following the Burnley match. His car was involved with one being driven by a member of the public. Both were uninjured and an ambulance wasn’t required.”
Rashford himself reassured fans online, posting “I’m alright guys, thanks for the messages.”
On the field, United have a hectic schedule ahead with two clashes against Crystal Palace in quick succession. They host Palace on Tuesday in the League Cup before playing them again on Sunday in the EPL. Further home games follow in October against Galatasaray and Brentford. The second international break of the season will then halt club football later this month.
