April 10, (THEWILL) – Jon Rahm secured his first Masters championship on Sunday, with a stunning performance at Augusta National.

Rahm is the fourth player from Spain to win the green jacket. The Spanish golfer finished the tournament at 12-under 276, four strokes ahead of Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson, both of whom finished tied for second place.

Koepka, who entered the final round with a two-stroke lead, struggled with his accuracy all day and shot 75. Meanwhile, Mickelson matched his best round ever at the Masters with a 65, featuring eight birdies. Jordan Spieth also made a late push with nine birdies in the final round to finish at 7-under.

This marks Rahm’s fourth win of the season, and his second major championship after winning the U.S. Open in 2021. He took the lead on the par-3 sixth hole and never looked back, building a four-shot lead after birdies at No. 13 and 14.

Rahm is the first Spaniard since Sergio Garcia in 2017 to win the Masters, joining Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal, as the only other Spanish players to have won at Augusta National.
