October 18, (THEWILL) – For the second time in a row, Barcelona player, Alexia Putellas, has taken home the Ballon d’Or Feminin.
It is indeed deserving of her outstanding performances for Barça and Spain and comes after Putellas won the Ballon d’Or Feminin in 2021. She retained the title in 2022 after yet another sensational season in the 2021/2022 calendar.
The Barcelona captain earned her sixth Liga championship and seventh Copa de la Reina of her career while tallying 28 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Putellas and Barca also succeeded in making it to their second straight UEFA Women’s Champions League final, but unfortunately, Lyon won the match 3-1 at Allianz Stadium.
Barca was able to draw record crowds to games throughout their run in Europe, even selling out Camp Nou for one game.
