Pulisic Joins AC Milan From Chelsea, Ready For Fresh Start

July 13, (THEWILL) – AC Milan have completed the signing of United States forward, Christian Pulisic, from Chelsea, according to an announcement made by the Serie A club on Thursday.

The deal sees Pulisic join Milan on a four-year contract, with the option of extending for an additional year. While the financial terms were not disclosed, British media reports monitored by THEWILL suggest that Milan paid Chelsea a fee of €20 million plus potential add-ons for the 24-year-old attacker.

Pulisic, who spent four seasons at Chelsea, was excited about the fresh opportunity at Milan after facing challenges in getting playing time at the Stamford Bridge club. During his time at Chelsea, Pulisic made 145 appearances, contributing with 26 goals and 21 assists. Notably, he played a crucial role in helping Chelsea secure major titles including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup in 2021.

Milan, who finished fourth in Serie A last season and qualified for the UCL, aim to strengthen their squad with the addition of Pulisic, who becomes the second Chelsea player to join the Italian side in this transfer window following the arrival of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Pulisic will wear the iconic number 11 shirt previously worn by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I’m not trying to fill his shoes, he’s a legend, but it was a fresh beginning and a number that I liked,” Pulisic said.
