February 11, (THEWILL) – Paris Saint-Germain continued their superb run of form by defeating fourth-placed Lille 3-1 at the Parc Des Princes on Saturday night, notching an impressive 16th match without defeat.

Lille started brightly when Yusuf Yazici finished off a fine move to give the away side a shock 1-0 lead after just six minutes. However, it took PSG only four minutes to equalise through Goncalo Ramos after Alexsandro was dispossessed. The champions then took the lead on 17 minutes as Fabian Ruiz’s cross was turned into his own net by Alexsandro Ribeiro. Both sides traded chances for the remainder of the half.

Shortly after the break, Lille gifted PSG another opportunity but Asensio could not capitalise on the mistake. As PSG pushed for a third goal, Lille sporadically threatened on the counterattack, with Edon Zhegrova forcing a save. However, PSG wrapped up the win late on when Kolo Muani tapped home after good work from Barcola down the left wing.

The victory sees PSG extend their unbeaten run as they prepare for a crunch UEFA Champions League tie with Real Sociedad on Valentine’s Day. For Lille, it was the 10th defeat in their last 11 visits to the capital, hampering their chances of European qualification next season.
