PSG Clinch 2-1 Win Over Nice In Ligue 1 Clash

May 16, (THEWILL) – Paris Saint-Germain returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nice at the Parc des Princes. The win sees PSG, who have already won another league title, claim maximum points for the first time since April 24.

The serial champions took the lead through Bradley Barcola’s 18th minute strike after some excellent pressing high up the pitch. Yoram Zague then doubled the advantage on his 18th birthday just five minutes later to give PSG a commanding 2-0 lead.

Nice refused to go down without a fight though, and Mohamed-Ali Cho pulled one back before half-time with his first league goal of the season.

The visitors pushed hard for an equaliser after the break but were reduced to 10 men in the 75th minute when Melvin Bard was sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Nice continued to create chances but could not find a way past the PSG defense. The result ends their five-game unbeaten run and dashes their hopes of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
