SAN FRANCISCO, December 31, (THEWILL) – The President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda has suspended all the stringent measures for a period of twenty four hours. This is to enable the citizenry to usher in 2021 with some celebration.
He noted that the holiday season had been extremely subdued and long traffic jams formed as a result of people trying to beat the curfew. In light of the COVID vaccines that will be available in the coming months, the President stated that a day of merriment where 2020 is kicked out, should be allowed.
That means that bars and restaurants can open and close per their normal working hours and revellers can travel without the cloud of curfew hanging over their heads.
However, President Nausėda of the Baltic nation in Europe, urged Lithuanians to self police and ensure they follow COVID-19 protocols including social distancing. Mr. Nausėda will be ushering the new year eve in Vilnius, with his wife Diana.
