Presidency Receives Kyari’ Remains, To Be Buried In Private Ceremony Today

BEVERLY HILLS, April 17, (THEWILL) – The Presidency has received the remains of Mallam Abba Kyari, the deceased Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who died Friday in Lagos from COVID-19.

Garba Shehu, Buhari’s spokesman, said he would be buried in a private ceremony today in strict compliance to the guidelines on burial of deceased coronavirus victims as prescribed by Nigeria Center for Disease Control and the Ministry of Health.

Kyari, a Muslim from Borno State died in his 70s. He suffered preexisting conditions before he was afflicted by the coronavirus.

He will be buried at the Abuja Gudu cemetery.
