SAN FRANCISCO, June 28, (THEWILL) – As President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) inches close to his 100 days in office with daunting challenges, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has called on Nigerians to pray for the success of the President and other leaders at all levels of government.
Dogara made the call Sunday in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, in Abuja.
According to the statement, Dogara was speaking during the Sunday service at the Living Faith Church, Durumi, Abuja.
According to the Speaker, since the challenges confronting the present crop of leaders in the country are not ordinary, there is need for extra-ordinary prayers to surmount the challenges.
His words: “I want to plead that because the problems we have in the country now are not conventional, conventional wisdom cannot solve them. We need divine wisodm.
“Without prayers, there is no way we can succeed. So I urge that we offer prayers and supplication for all the leaders beginning from the President to the least person in authority… so that we can embrace this wisdom that comes from God and apply those tools that we can passion out by means of this wisdom in bringing solution to the problems that are no longer conventional.”
Reading from the book of Matthew 6:33, Malachi 3:l7, Ephisians 6:18 among other verses of the Bible, Pastor John Adelekun, in his sermon, called on the worshippers to serve God and tap into His blessings.
According to the cleric, those who serve God don´t beg to be lifted, saying they would only be doing themselves favour when they serve God with all their heart.
