April 02, (THEWILL) – Many passengers have been reportedly left stranded after power outage hit a section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
With the country experiencing power outages in the past few weeks due to the collapse of the national grid, and that has affected the airports. It was gathered that power challenge at the airport worsened since three days ago.
According to Punch report, the departure lounge of the International Airport, Lagos, was the most affected on Saturday.
“I suffered this morning while boarding. Power just suddenly went off”, a passenger identified as Ayodele, said.
According to an official at the airport, who pleaded anonymity, the generator that served as a back-up, developed fault over 24 hours ago.
“Yes, there is a power challenge. The only generator we have been managing also packed up”, the worker said.
When contacted, the Public Affairs of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Faith Hope, promised to get back.
