January 11, (THEWILL) – Christian Pulisic is anticipated to be sidelined for several ‘months’ due to his recent injury, Graham Potter revealed on Wednesday.

The American forward joined a growing number of Blues players on the treatment table when he was substituted during the first half of their 1-0 loss to Manchester City at home last Thursday.

Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both sustained injuries during that match. While Potter is a little more upbeat about their returns, he had alarming information to share concerning Pulisic.

“Pierre is fine and he will be in the squad [to face Fulham],” Potter noted before adding: “Christian is a couple of months we think. Raheem is less, hopefully, less than that. Ruben [Loftus-Cheek] and Ben Chilwell getting closer. Reece [James] was out on the grass today, not training with the team but on his own. N’Golo [Kante] is training on his own but a long way to go.”

On Thursday, Chelsea will face Fulham in a late English Premier League fixture with a 9 pm kickoff. Potter’s team is now the lowest-ranked west London team in the EPL, trailing its opponents by three points and three positions in the standings.
