September 25, (THEWILL) – Portugal defeated the Czech Republic 4-0 in Prague to top Group A2 of the Nations League, thanks to, amongst other factors, two goals by Diogo Dalot.

The Manchester United full-back gave Portugal the lead after 33 minutes, and clubmate, Bruno Fernandes doubled that advantage before Patrik Schick missed a penalty after a VAR decision at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Dalot scored once again, and late in the game, Diogo Jota rounded out the scoring of the one-sided encounter.

With just one round of games remaining, the outcome put Portugal ahead of Spain in the standings.

The final round of A2 games could be exciting as a result of Spain’s defeat to Switzerland. Switzerland will play the Czech Republic with both teams seeking to escape relegation, while Portugal will play Spain with both teams vying for a spot in the finals.
