June 15, (THEWILL) – Paul Pogba is expected to join Juventus when he departs Manchester United at the end of June, according to reports monitored by THEWILL.
A deal for Pogba with the Serie A club, which he played for for four years from 2012 to 2016, will see him return for another four years. The Frenchman won six trophies during his first season with Juventus, including four league crowns and the Coppa Italia twice. In 2015, he also played a key role in helping Juventus reach the Champions League final, when they were defeated by Luis Enrique’s Barcelona.
Pogba grew up at the United academy alongside Jesse Lingard and Ravel Morrison, and after impressing in Italy, United acquired him back for a then-world-record cost of £89 million in 2016.
Following that, successive managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick rarely exploited his complete range of abilities and skill sets to their best potential, and he was booed in his final two games for the club, against Norwich City and great rivals Liverpool.
The 29-year-old was rumoured to be interested in joining Manchester City, but he did not want to risk fan reaction. United announced earlier this month that Pogba will depart the club when his contract expires on June 30. More information regarding his leaving will be disclosed in his documentary, “The Pogmentary,” which is due out this week.
