August 17, (THEWILL) – The current 100-metres hurdles African, Commonwealth, and world champion, Oluwatobiloba Ayomide Amusan, has signed a management contract with Plug Sports, a renowned Nigerian sports management organisation, owned by The Plug.
This information was provided by The Plug’s management to the media, during a briefing on Tuesday, August 16, at their office headquarters in Lagos.
The track and field record-setting Amusan specialises in the 100-metre hurdles even if she partakes in others supporting. She recently ran 12.06 seconds mark, wind-added (+2.5 m/s), to becoming the first ever gold medalist for Nigeria in the 100m hurdles event at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon. Additionally, her 12.12s semi-final mark represented the fourth world record in the hurdles for women’s event.
The Plug’s Head of Sports, Lanre Vigo, expressed his delight at signing the athlete, saying it was a dream come true and the firm was thrilled to welcome Amusan: “I’m indeed very thrilled to announce the signing of world record holder Tobi Amusan to Plug Sports. Plug Sports will be looking after Tobi Amusan’s off-the-field interests in Africa. Tobi is a phenomenal person/athlete myself and my team are looking forward to collaborating with her.”
Amusan is not the first athlete to be on the Plug Sports handling. Soccer players Henry Onyekuru, Asisat Oshoala, and Clement Ugah are some of the other athletes managed by company.
