Miralem Pjanic and FC Barcelona have come to terms with releasing the player from the contract to keep him at the club until the conclusion of the 2023/2024 season.
In a statement, making this public, Barca stated in part, “The club publicly expresses its gratitude to the player for his professionalism, dedication, and commitment and for always adapting his contract to the club’s situations and needs.
“It wishes him every success and fortune in the future.”
In the summer of 2020, Pjanic transferred from Juventus to FC Barcelona, where the Bosnian featured in 30 games across all competitions during his debut campaign, including the team’s victory in the Copa del Rey.
The midfielder later played on loan for Besiktas JK in Turkey for the 2021–2022 season. The termination of his contract opens up the path for his move to Sharjah FC of the United Arab Emirates, which is currently second in the UAE Pro League.
