June 25, (THEWILL) – The Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), has launched its camping programme for athletes ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. With the games scheduled from August 28 to September 8, the PCN is taking proactive steps to ensure Nigeria’s para-athletes are in peak condition.
PCN President, Mr Sunday Odebode, announced that para-athletics and para-badminton athletes will train in Abuja, whilst para-powerlifting and para-table tennis competitors will prepare in Lagos. This strategic division allows for specialised training tailored to each discipline’s unique requirements.
“The Paralympic games are approaching rapidly and we at PCN are determined to provide our athletes with the best possible preparation,” Odebode stated. He emphasised the importance of early camping, explaining that it would help athletes reach optimal form for the games, where they aim to excel and bring honour to Nigeria.

The PCN’s commitment to thorough preparation is evident in their comprehensive approach. Odebode revealed that additional Paralympic Federations would soon begin their respective training camps once suitable venues are confirmed, demonstrating the PCN’s dedication to all para-sports.
