July 01, (THEWILL) – Covenant University, a Christian Mission institution founded by Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, has been on the rise in the last couple of years.

Founded in 2002 and driven by a vision to raise a generation of new leaders and to reinstate the dignity of the human race, the institution has continued to soar both locally and globally.

Many have attributed its success and enviable heights to the doggedness and hard work of its founder, Bishop Oyedepo, who ensures the standard of the institution is maintained through its seven core values, which include spirituality, possibility mentality, capacity building, integrity, responsibility, diligence and sacrifice.

Those core values paid off as the institution has been ranked as the best private university in Nigeria since 2013 by the Nigeria University Commission. It has also maintained the ranking for five consecutive years.

Moving a step higher in 2019, Covenant University joined the league of institutions of learning to be rated by Times Higher Education (THE), the reputable magazine that rates universities across the globe.

The institution became the first Nigerian university to be ranked in the first 401-500 categories of world universities in Nigeria by the Times Higher Education.

Covenant University didn’t rest on its laurels after that, It moved a step higher as Times Higher Education further gave credence to the institution’s excellent standard with the 2023 Sub-Saharan Africa University Ranking.

It was rated as the 7th best university in Sub-Saharan Africa and the number-one-best university in Nigeria.

Part of the indicators that uplifted Covenant University to that height includes access and fairness, its impact in Africa, teaching skills, student engagement, resources and finance.

A student survey accounting for their experience in terms of judging the school facilities, their interaction with peers and the faculty, employability, course quality and teaching engagement was also conducted.

Apart from its global ranking, students, who are products of the institution, have been gaining the upper hand in their chosen careers across the globe.
