September 27,(THEWILL) – Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, has taken a decisive step in expressing his dissatisfaction with Serie A club, Napoli, by removing all Napoli-related pictures from his Instagram account.

This move comes in the wake of a social media incident where Napoli poked fun at the Super Eagles forward for his recent penalty miss against Bologna, adding to his already scrutinised goalless run in the past month, as THEWILL previously reported.

Despite playing a pivotal role in leading Napoli to their first league title in over three decades, Osimhen’s on-field struggles had placed him under intense scrutiny. Matters escalated when he was seen visibly angry at manager Luciano Spalletti after being substituted late in their last game. Although he later apologised for the outburst, a new source of discontent has now emerged.

Osimhen’s frustration with Napoli reached a tipping point when the club’s official TikTok account posted a video mocking his penalty miss against Bologna. In response, his agent Roberto Calenda hinted at the possibility of legal action. In a clear sign of his unhappiness with the club’s handling of the situation, Osimhen has chosen to erase all traces of his time at Napoli from his Instagram page, instead focusing on photos featuring the Nigerian national team.

With Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli in turmoil and contract talks stalled since the previous season, his recent actions have sparked speculation about his future at the club. This Instagram clearout serves as a potent symbol of the mounting tensions between the player and Napoli, leaving fans and pundits wondering what lies ahead for this talented striker.
