September 22, (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen, who was injured two weeks ago during a match between Napoli and Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, has resumed training with the Italian club.
The Nigerian forward, who will miss the Super Eagles’ match against Algeria on Tuesday, in Oran, has returned despite doctors’ initial concerns that he would not play again until mid-October.
Before getting sidelined, Osimhen had scored two goals in Serie A against Monza and Hellas Verona in August. Meanwhile, the Naples team has risen to the top of both the Italian Serie A and their UEFA Champions League group during his absence.

Osimhen might participate in Napoli’s UCL match against Ajax on October 4 at the Amsterdam Arena. His comeback will provide Luciano Spalletti’s team a much-needed lift as they look to make it three wins in a row in Europe this year.
The striker’s services are still in demand in the English Premier League, however, with teams like Manchester United and Chelsea considering a move for the Nigerian.
