Osimhen, Oshoala Fly Nigeria’s Flag At 2023 Globe Soccer Awards

November 21, (THEWILL) – Two of Nigeria’s brightest football talents, Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala, have received nominations for the prestigious 2023 Globe Soccer Awards, the organisers have announced. Osimhen, who plays for Serie A giants Napoli, is shortlisted alongside numerous football heavyweights for the Best Men’s Player award. This includes former Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema and ex-Globe Soccer winner, Robert Lewandowski.

Oshoala’s nomination comes on the back of an outstanding year where she was instrumental in Barcelona Femeni’s UEFA Women’s Champions League triumph. She is nominated for the Best Women’s Player award as a result. Both Osimhen and Oshoala have rapidly become global stars of the game and these nominations are testament to their talent.

The 24-year-old Osimhen was in scintillating goalscoring form last season to finish as the first-ever African Capocannoniere in the league’s over 120 years of existence. Oshoala meanwhile is the most African Women’s Player of the Year winner with five titles to her name.
