November 21, (THEWILL) – The 2023 Ligue 1 season has seen some rapid players, but two stand out for averaging the most sprints per 90 minutes – Emeka Emegha and Akor Adams. According to official statistics, Emegha’s 31.1 km per 90 minutes is second only to Ismail Jakobs of AS Monaco.
Having joined Strasbourg last summer from Austrian club Sturm Graz, the 20-year-old Nigerian striker has made eight appearances and scored 1 goal so far. His remarkable pace has been a strong part of his impressive start to the season in Le Championnat.
In fourth place is Adams, who plays for Montpellier and has caught attention for his prolific goal-scoring this season. Averaging 26.8 km sprints per 90 minutes, he has found the net seven times in 11 games. This tally of the 23-year-old former Flying Eagles forward is bettered only by one player in Ligue 1.
To make the top five speedsters, players had to log a minimum of 500 minutes. The stats show Emegha and Adams as two of the fastest in France’s top division. Their sprinting ability likely contributes to their success.
As the 2023 season continues, these two quick talents could play even greater roles for Strasbourg and Montpellier respectively. Their electrifying place certainly brings excitement to Ligue 1.
