July 29, (THEWILL) – Serie A capocannoniere Victor Osimhen displayed his attacking abilities as Napoli registered a convincing 4-0 victory over Turkish side Hatayspor in an exciting friendly encounter.
The match witnessed Osimhen’s brilliance on full display, with the striker netting a stunning double that left the opposition defence struggling. Despite missing key players: Stanislav Lobotka, Eljif Elmas, and Mario Rui due to injuries, Napoli’s Coach Rudi Garcia confidently steered the team using a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Osimhen wasted no time making his mark on the game, forcing an early save from Hatayspor’s goalkeeper before breaking the deadlock with a clinical finish. Piotr Zielinski’s relentless high press created an error in the opposition’s defence, allowing Matteo Politano to provide the perfectly timed through ball for Osimhen’s first goal.
The Nigerian forward continued to terrorise the Hatayspor defence with his explosive speed and lethal finishing. Just moments after his first goal, Osimhen, helped on by Kvicha Kvaratskhelia’s assist, added another to his tally, a demonstration of his ability to exploit any defensive vulnerability. However, luck was not entirely on his side, as he was denied a hat-trick due to an offside position.
Garcia substituted all 11 Napoli players at the hour mark putting the team’s depth and versatility on display. New recruit, Michael Folorunsho and the ever-reliable Karim Zedadka created a handful of opportunities, but it was Giovanni Simeone, affectionately known as Cholito, who sealed the victory with his own impressive brace.
