February 05, (THEWILL) – On Sunday, Barcelona Femení continued their domination of the Primera Iberdrola with another resounding victory against Real Betis as Asisat Oshoala, notched another hattrick.
The still-unbeaten champions walloped Betis 7-0 in the Johan Cruyff stadium. In addition to Oshoala’s hat trick, the goals came from Geyse, Kiera Walsh, Claudia Pina and Mariona Caldentey. The visitors were unable to advance beyond the halfway line as the Catalan team dominated the match from the beginning.
This result puts Barcelona eight points ahead of their closest rival, Real Madrid, while Betis Feminas team suffered their fourth consecutive defeat and are now just one point above the relegation zone.
Oshoala’s hattrick and player-of-the-match display were particularly striking as she was subbed on just a minute before the hour mark but demonstrated her fine form in front of goal again.
Barca, once again, exhibited the superiority that has marked their clinical performance so far in the competition and left their opponents in disarray. Manager Jonathan Giráldez’s squad will hope to keep the winning streak going when they visit Deportivo Alaves on Saturday, while Betis host Valencia.
