October 06, (THEWILL) – Ahead of his 50th birthday On October 17, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, has decided to get intentional by leaving indelible marks on the sands of time.
Although, spiritually and traditionally, the Ooni isn’t supposed to celebrate his birthday except the annual celebration of the anniversary of his enthronement, but as an avowed exponent of mixing tradition, the traditional ruler has found a way around this cultural complexity. While he may not set out to roll out the red carpet to celebrate hitting the milestone, his loyal subjects who are all spread across Nigeria to the Caribbean islands to Brazil, etc, can’t be barred from celebrating the milestone birthday with pomp and pageantry.
Plans are already in top gear to celebrate him. What is most important, though, to the highly resourceful king are the 50 projects he has decided to launch in commemoration of milestones.
The 50 outstanding legacy projects will cut across all sectors of the economy – from education to health services to youth empowerment/intervention and the likes. So, from now until the actual birthday date itself, it would be an avalanche of project launches, the momentum to further increase as the days draws near. Already, some of the projects have been launched.
