October 19, (THEWILL) – On Tuesday night, at Cegeka Arena, Racing Genk thrashed KVC Westerlo 6-1, and Paul Onuachu scored for the fourth straight game in the Belgian Pro League.

Onuachu overcame his initial dry spell early this season, and his goals have helped Genk win four straight divisional games. The leading side began with a seventh-minute Joseph Paintsil opener before Daniel Munoz doubled the lead eight minutes later. But, Tuur Dierckx pulled one back for Westerlo from the penalty spot.

In the 32nd minute, Onuachu converted a cross from Paintsil to restore Genk’s two-goal lead and scored a penalty of his own to complete his brace five minutes before the break. At the stroke of halftime, Munoz also netted his second of the tie so that Genk went into the break with a solid 5-1 lead.

Early in the second period, Westerlo were reduced to 10 men when Nene Dorgeles got his marching orders but the numerical disadvantage did not reflect as only one more goal came after in the 79th minute, by which time Onuachu had already been substituted off.

The six goals Onuachu has managed this season have returned the forward to the conversation of challenging for goal-scoring honours as the only players with more goals currently than the Nigerian are Mario Gonzalez (Leuven), Hugo Cuypers (Gent), and Vincent Janssen (Antwerp).
