July 12, (THEWILL) – Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin has been crowned as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The new Olubadan was crowned at the Labosinde compound, where the family traditionally has the mandate to enthrone the king.
The 89-year-old monarch immediately moved to Ile Osemeji in the Oja Oba city area after being crowned as the new Olubadan. Ile Osemeji is regarded as the place where the divination of the future of Ibadan was revealed.
Several dignitaries witnessed the ceremony, including former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.
