NULGE Pledge Support To Ado Council Chairman, Passes Vote Of Confidence On Council Executives

May 23, (THEWILL) – Members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Ado Local Government Chapter, in Benue State, have promised to support the Council chairman, to succeed in office, even as it disowned a petition masterminded by one Agbo Agbese and other faceless groups.

Members who are staff of Ado Local Government Area Council, made this known at the end of their congress meeting, which was held at the Council’s secretariat in Igumale, the headquarters of Ado Local Government Council.

NULGE pledged its support and allegiance to the leadership of the union under the able chairmanship of Comrade Agbese Joseph Onazi.

Members dissociated themselves from the actions of one Mr Agbo Agbese, whom they accused of dubiously collating fake signatories of some members and masterminding a petition against the union’s leadership to cause division and enmity within the rank and file of Ado NULGE.

Comrade Godwin Orinya moved for affirmation of the resolutions and was seconded by Comrade Sunday Ochima during the Congress meeting.

The Congress, which was attended by over one hundred members of the union, noted that despite the hands of brotherhood extended to Mr Agbo, whose salary payment point is still in Agatu LGC but worked in Ado LGC, was bent on creating division and laying false allegation of misappropriation against the union’s leadership.

“Comrade Agbo has not been contributing a dime to the union’s account ever since he was redeployed to Ado in 2012.”

Members enjoined NULGE officials at the state and national level, public, State Government and law enforcement agencies to disregard any publication or petition, from Agbo or petitioners, saying at no point decision was taken to engage any individual or law firm to generate a petition against the Ado NULGE leadership.

The Ado NULGE, however, warned Mr Agbo to desist from using the name of the union as an instrument to fight and sabotage the administration of his younger brother Hon. Charles Agbese who is the caretaker committee chairman for Ado LGC because of inordinate ambition.

They unanimously pledged their unalloyed support and cooperation to the leadership of the union at the local, state and national levels for the overall development of Benue State and Nigeria.

The union commended the Ado Caretaker Committee chairman, Hon. Charles Agbese, for making the union more vibrant and virile in discharging its function, assuring continued support for his administration to succeed.
