September 14, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s largest indigenous television network, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has taken on Sporty.com, a leading online sports media and entertainment brand, as a partner for the simulcast of its free-to-air broadcast of premium sports content.

The partnership, which is purportedly the first of its kind in the country, was brokered by a Sports services company called Integral, which prides itself as being one of Africa’s leading sports marketing and management companies. Integral is also the rights holder of notable sports media rights including the free-to-air Premier League rights for Nigeria.

With this partnership, Nigerian-based users of the Sporty.com platform will have access to a simulcast of NTA’s broadcast of exciting sports programmes. A part of the premium content NTA will offer the Sporty will be what it already broadcasts as the broadcast partner of Integral’s EPL media rights.

These rights allow NTA broadcast top-flight 3pm English Premier League matches each game week as well as weekly Premier League shows that include Preview and Review shows and all the benefits of shows like the Premier League World.

This highly sought-after bouquet of English football content that was the exclusive preserve of the NTA, will now be available to the Nigerian users of Sporty.com without making them pay any extra charges for that accessibility.

Sporty.com will simply add NTA’s broadcast of programmes to its sports portfolio becoming the official simulcast platform for the broadcast of the network’s programmes.

Oluchi Enuha, Brand Director of Sporty.com expressed their pleasure in securing the partnership with NTA. Enuha said: “This is an exciting moment for us as we start streaming the simulcast of NTA’s broadcast of premium content that will include many sports as the English Premier League live matches and weekly shows.

“We are delighted to connect Nigeria-based football fans with exciting football content they love”.

On NTA’s behalf, Alhaji Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, the Director General of NTA, said: “NTA is pleased to be a part of this innovation secured by Integral, to provide football and sports loving Nigerians with a new platform to watch their favourite sports teams. We look forward to working with Sporty.com to deliver the best quality football content”

Also speaking on the deal, Abimbola Ilo, the Managing Director of Integral, which helped in brokering the partnership said: “As rights holder of the Premier League free-to-air broadcast in Nigeria, Integral is committed to bringing the Premier League closer to its fans in Nigeria.

“With this deal, having Sporty.com as the simulcast platform for NTA’s sports content, it is guaranteed to maximize the exposure of exciting football content to passionate Nigerian fans.”
