Nothing Wrong With Muslim-Muslim Ticket – Maharaj Ji

GTBCO FOOD DRINL

August 17, (THEWILL) – The founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj ji, has thrown his back behind the Muslim-Muslim ticket as presented by the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying nothing is wrong with it.

Maharaj ji, who was addressing journalists in Lagos, as part of activities marking the 29th anniversary of his pronouncement, ‘No War in Nigeria, Come What May’, said attention should be paid to ability rather than religious sentiment.

It would be recalled that Maharaj ji made a declaration on August 16, 1993, that “No War in Nigeria, Come What May.”

He said the religion of the president and the vice president will not matter, saying what should concern Nigerians now is whether the candidates have the capability and resourcefulness to govern the country or not.

“Muslim-Muslim ticket, what is wrong in that, what Nigerians are saying now and they are agitating on is that President Muhammadu Buhari is not doing well enough. What has religion got to do with that?

“People are agitating that Buhari is not doing well. Buhari is a Muslim, he is a General. The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is a Christian, even a Pastor of one of the biggest churches in Nigeria. He is also a Professor. Yet people are agitating, that means religious balance has failed.

“What we should concern ourselves with is the ability to perform. Muslim-Muslim ticket is okay, as long as they will be able to score the desired goal”, Maharaj ji said.

He said Nigerians should not be hopeless and despaired, adding that the Nigeria’s situation is not beyond redemption.

Maharaj ji said despite his optimism that Nigeria will survive the present predicaments, “We have a cause to worry. There is every reason to feel concerned. We have every cause to become anxious in the face of incessant crimes, tensed calmness, fragile unity suspicions, political imbalances and dire wants in the midst of plenty.”
