May 3, (THEWILL)- Pep Guardiola has dismissed suggestions that Manchester City’s greater experience could prove pivotal in the English Premier League title race against Arsenal. The defending champions are one point behind the Gunners with a game in hand as the season enters its crucial final weeks.

Despite City’s outstanding recent record of five EPL titles in the last six seasons, Guardiola insists his side must be perfect to pip Arsenal. “I would love (experience) to think ‘yes’ but we have to prove it against Wolves and in the next games,” he said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Wolves.

The Spaniard knows City face a tough task, praising Arsenal’s “strength” and “consistency” this campaign. “We know we have to win all 12 points, otherwise it will be difficult because Arsenal are so strong,” Guardiola admitted. “It’s difficult to see them dropping points.”

Guardiola confirmed star striker Erling Haaland is fit to start after recovering from a niggling injury. Ruben Dias, Phil Foden and Ederson are also available as City’s squad nears full strength for the run-in. However, the manager remains wary of overconfidence against dangerous opponents.

“I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do tomorrow,” he said. “Of course I have little doubts for one or two players in the line-up but for the rest of the game plan, I had time to think about it.”
