November 29, (THEWILL) – French forward, Christopher Nkunku, is set to sign a long-term contract with Chelsea after the Blues and RB Leipzig came to an agreement.

The 25-year-old is said to have inked a long-standing contract with Chelsea and was the subject of a physical at Stamford Bridge in September after attracting Chelsea’s interest with the 20 goals he notched in the Bundesliga last year and the 12 he put in this year already.

Under the leadership of owner, Todd Boehly and new head coach, Graham Potter, the Blues are going through a period of change and want to strengthen their Blues’ squad with high-profile players.

Contracts for the RB Leipzig forward are about to be signed, and Chelsea is closer than ever to completing the transaction after the German club and the Blues agreed on a deal worth more than £52 million.

Nkunku will reportedly sign a long-term contract beginning in June 2023, by which time he ought to have fully recovered from the knee injury he sustained earlier this month, which forced him to withdraw from the World Cup, as THEWILL reported.
