NIHOTOUR, HATMAN To Host Workshop On Tourism, Hospitality Management

April 05, (THEWILL) – The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) and Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) have partnered to host the 2024 edition of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Workshop.

Public Relations Officer of NIHOTOUR, Joesef Karim, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, noted that the workshop, slated for Monday, April 15, 2024, in Asaba, Delta State, is an exclusive programme tailored for management-level professionals in tourism and hospitality.

According to the statement, the workshop targets hoteliers, caterers, event handlers, tour operators, travel agents, tour guides, recreation and parks operators, resort managers, clubs, and lounge operators in Nigeria.

“The workshop parades an array of renowned Nigerian tourism technocrats and hospitality industry experts, including Dr. Lilian Managwu, Dr. Eric Mekwuye, Aguele Omolara, Gbenga Sunday, Chibuikem Diala, and Justina Ovat, among others. The facilitators will be led by the Director General of NIHOTOUR, Nura Sani Kangiwa and the President of HATMAN, Mr. Samson Aturu.

“Over the years, NIHOTOUR and HATMAN have regularly collaborated on personnel capacity development training programmes with deep dive into industry insights, strategic management skills, and career growth opportunities. Such HIHOTOUR and HATMAN immersive workshops are designed to empower leaders to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sectors.

“At the end of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Workshop, participants will be given National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) professional certificates and will be inducted as members of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN).

“The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) is the lead parastatal of the Federal Government of Nigeria that is empowered by an Act of Parliament to train, certify and register all personnel in Nigeria’s hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors,” the statement read in part.
