BEVERLY HILLS, SEPTEMBER 13, (THEWILL) – Arik Air, Nigeria’s largest carrier will resume full regular operations on Wednesday, barely 24 hours after announcing the suspension of full services over its inability to renew insurance for the aircrafts in its fleet, due to liquidity issues.

“We have resolved the issues relating to the insurance. Our flights have resumed but our full operations will start tomorrow. Two flights are already leaving to Port Harcourt and Abuja this evening. We sincerely apologise to our clients,” Adebanji Ola, its spokesman said in a statement late Tuesday.

CEO, Dr. Michael Arumemi-Ikhide, in a follow up statement apologised to hundreds of customers who were left stranded on Tuesday, at the end of the Islamic holiday, after the airline suddenly pulled scheduled flights nationwide.

“Where flights have been cancelled, the airline will notify passengers through SMS and in such cases, passengers will be accommodated on first available alternative flight as soon as normal flight operations resume,” he said.
