Oshoala’s exhilarating performance saw her score the Super Falcons’ third goal, becoming the first African woman to score in three Women’s World Cups. However, her decision to remove her jersey in celebration and subsequent caution from the referee sparked contrasting reactions on social media, with some, including her father, disapproving her action.
In response to her father’s criticism, Oshoala took to Instagram to assert her stance: “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, life is a collection of moments.”
