September 30, (THEWILL) – The Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, has reportedly been hospitalised in Abuja, after suffering acute poisoning.
THEWILL gathered that Ade-John, 60, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, shortly after she started manifesting symptoms of her poisoning.
Family sources familiar with her ordeal told Peoples Gazette that she had spent four days at the facility as of Friday morning.
Although, neither Ngozi Onwudike, the permanent secretary at the Humanitarian Ministry, nor the FMC, has confirmed the development, Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said investigation has commenced into the allegation.
Speaking with the Punch on Saturday, SP. Adeh said the FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), to immediately take over from the Mabushi Police Division, ongoing investigation into the alleged poisoning of the Minister.
“The CP has ordered the Mabushi Police Division that was investigating the matter to immediately transfer it to the SCID”, Adeh said.
